What to Expect
Many people have never had a chance to worship at a Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). So, we would like to help you know what to expect.
The Christian Church is similar in many ways to other mainline denominations, such as the United Methodist Church. However, there are some noticeable differences. First, the Christian Church celebrates the Lord's Supper (Holy Communion) every Sunday. Second, we do not recite any human creeds.
Even within the Christian Church, each congregation is unique. The following is a sample of what you will experience when you visit Bethany Christian Church:
Sunday School starts at 9:30 AM every Sunday. After that, worship begins at 10:30 AM. We begin with a greeting, announcements, and the Prelude to set the tone for worship. We then have a Call to Worship, Hymn of Praise, and Invocation. The rest of the service consists of a time of prayer, Holy Communion, Offering, Special Music, Sermon, and Benediction.
Nursery care is provided during the worship service.
